Subway Surfers is an endless runner played by swiping and tapping on the screen. Players control a character who must dodge oncoming trains and obstacles while being pursued by an inspector and his dog. The primary goal is to run as far as possible to achieve a high score.

Gameplay involves swiping up, down, left, and right to jump, roll, and change lanes. Players also tap to activate hoverboards and other power-ups collected during a run. Coins are gathered to purchase upgrades and new characters.

The mobile experience is enhanced by weekly and seasonal events called "World Tours." These updates introduce new locations, limited-time characters, and unique boards, providing fresh visual themes and objectives to complete.
